Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of BLS-P course in medical school.
Materials and methods. The study included two groups: g1 - 129 students, referred by the Medical Chamber, and g2 - 28 specialists referred by the Medexpert clinic. All of them underwent a BLS-P course. Course duration was 6 academic hours. As a result of the pre-course all medical workers successfully mastered the BLS algorithm, learned how to perform effective chest compressions, ventilations and to safely use AED. 

Results. For 48-57% of cadets, participation was not voluntary, they were sent to this course, 10% took the initiative and made the decision to undergo training. 26% of the respondents of the g1 and 14% of the g2 wanted to get new knowledge, for half of the participants the goal of the training was to ugrade the existing knowledge. For the majority of participants in both groups, the main expectation of the course was to acquire new knowledge and skills, recall forgotten topic, and 10% of respondents went to listen to a regular lecture. After class the course 98% of students in g1 and 96% of g2 considered AED as an important step in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The task of learning was not only to master the technical skills, but also to form a new attitude to the BLS. At the end of the course, almost all participants changed their attitude in a positive way. All participants noted the high effectiveness of the course.
Conclusion. The BLS-P course was successfully integrated into the program for the advanced training of medical workers conducted at the simulation center of the Kaliningrad Medical Institute. Health care professionals were highly motivated to learn. As a result of training was a change of attitude to the problem of cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
