Introduction: About 4% of the population deals with the persistent symptoms of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) daily. Although auditory difficulties are being reported in this population, our knowledge is still limited, more research and evidence are needed to well identify and categorize the consequence of TBI  on central auditory processing.  
Objective: The objective of the present study was to identify and categorize the main impacts of a TBI on auditory processing by measuring the peripheral and central auditory performance.
Methods: A retrospective study was done using the files of 26 patients who reported a TBI in a clinic specialized in the diagnosis of auditory processing difficulties. 
Results: Data was extracted from the files and binary logistic regression was performed in order to identify correlations between TBI and auditory outcomes. 
Conclusion: Speech in noise has been identified as the most frequent result of a TBI and decreased tolerance to sound typically occurs after a single injury.
