The purpose of this research is to determine the accuracy of the active ingredient dosages represented on over-the-counter medications. The concentration of active ingredients of acetaminophen and ibuprofen are quantified via UV-Vis spectrophotometric analysis. There is overlap in the spectra of both drugs around 226 nm with acetaminophen showing an absorption peak around 256 nm and Ibuprofen around 222 nm. In the analysis of this data, Beer’s law will be used to determine the concentrations. It is hypothesized that leading brands will have slightly higher accuracy in the dosage of active ingredients compared to generic brands.   <br/>
