Sustainable developments call for a carbon-neutral bioeconomy that requires new catalytic chemistries and processes that can convert biomass feedstocks to renewable chemicals, liquid fuels, and recyclable materials under environmentally friendly, atom-economical, catalytic conditions. In this context, this presentation will describe our recent and on-going efforts to address the above needs centered on sustainability and green chemistry through the development of several organic and metal-based catalytic reactions or processes for efficient conversion of biomass-derived feedstocks to jet fuels, renewable monomers, and circular plastics.
