Demand for petrochemicals is increasing at a rate of nearly 1.5 times GDP growth, driven by consumer demand for more packaging, plastics and synthetic fabrics in developing economies. To enable a facility’s production expansion towards petrochemical derivatives and opportunistic feeds, the focus of innovations is drawn to naphtha production technologies. This is where the Hydrocracking process becomes the key enabler to petrochemical production as it enables refiners to unlock the heavy naphtha constraint for world-scale para-xylene production. Therefore, Hydrocracking process will play a key part in the Refinery of the Future, where it will provide refiners a robust and flexible technology to meet market demands for petrochemicals and the flexibility to switch between demands of transportation fuels and petrochemicals and will be discussed in this talk.<br/>
