Dominant management strategy for almost 90% of produced water in Marcellus Shale is the reuse for hydraulic fracturing.  However, every natural gas well field eventually becomes a net water producer as more wells are drilled and the drilling schedule slows down.  The main issue facing oil & gas industry in the Marcellus Shale at that time will be what to do with produced water that is generated by each well throughout its life.  With the uncertain fate of disposal wells in Pennsylvania, the industry can resort to transporting the produced water to Class II Underground Injection Control Wells in Ohio at considerable cost.  Alternatively, satellite or centralized treatment facilities can be developed to enable recovery of valuable resources from the produced water (i.e., clean water, usable salts) while reducing the overall management cost.  This presentation will discuss possible technologies that can be used for this purpose together with economic implications of different management scenarios.<br/>
