Copper doped BiVO4/g-C3N4composite photocatalysts were successfully synthesized using a sonochemical approach. Copper can trap the charge carriers, which resulted in the charge separation and photocatalytic activity enhancement. In addition, the compositesemiconductors can improve the stability and light harvesting efficiency of photocatalysis. Cu doped BiVO4/g-C3N4composite photocatalysts exhibited a significant enhancement in the photocatalytic degradation performance. The optimal condition is the BPA concentration of 20 mg L-1, pH value of 10, and 10Cu/BiVO4/g-C3N4photocatalyst amount of 0.4 g L–1. The removal of BPA can achieve 100% decomposition after 90 min at the optimal condition. Moreover, the excessive doping of copper cannot synthesize the monoclinic scheelite phase, which resulted in the decrease of the photocatalytic activity.
