Novel chemistry is used to discover the monosacccharide upon which sulfate is substituted, using bovine thyroglobulin as an example. This novel chemistry is H- nucleophilic substitution of (di-hydrido) sulfo substiituted oligosaccharide di (hydrido) di-phospho di-hydrate serinyl (di-hydrido) sulfo tyrosine dipeptide from bovine thyroglobulin trreated with NaBH4 in NH4OH for an appropriate time. The chemiistry is confirmed by triple quadrapole ms on an API 200 mass spectrometer.
