The rishirilides A and B were originally isolated from a soil bacteria, Streptomyces rishiriensis. Herein we will discuss our optimisation of both the production and isolation of rishirilides A and B from a heterologous host, S. albus::cos4, which contains the biosynthetic gene cluster encoding for the production of the rishirilides. We will also discuss our investigation into the biological activity of these natural products.
