In nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions using arylsulfonates as the electrophile with nitrogen-containing and oxygen-containing nucleophiles, two types of bond cleavage can occur; C-O and S-O bond cleavage. From a single electrophile and nucleophile, two products can be made in one pot. We have investigated reaction conditions for the regioselective cleavage of the C-O and S-O bond in the course of nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction. Using arylsulfonates and various amines, the C-O and S-O pathways compete to synthesize two products. Preliminary results for the synthesis of aryl amines and aryl sulfonamides will be presented.<br/>
