The presentation discusses a synthesis of new fully organic conducting adhesives that includes three componenets: poly(N-methacryloyl-3,4-dihydroxyl-L-phenylalanine), poly(3-sulfopropyl methacrylate), and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene). The new polymer is heterogeneous additive-free electornically conducting adhesives. The typical electrically conductive adhesives always include heterogeneous metallic and/or carbon-based fillers blended (non-covalent bonding) with organic adhesive polymer matrix. However, the heterogeneous blending has serious issues with aggregation, heavy weight, large filler contents, rapid aging, toxicity, low adhesion/conductivity, poor mechanical properties, and price. The new electornically conducting adhesives solved these listed issues by using a new molecular structure of covalently-linked copolymer complex to polythiophene. The new polymer is prepared in two steps. First, a flexible copolymer, which possesses bioinspired adhesive moiety catechol and anionic sulfonate pendants, is synthesized by radical polymerization. Second, monomer 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene is oxidatively polymerized in the presence of the flexible copolymer to form a complex of the new electrically conductive adhesives. The conducting adhesive exhibits high electrical conductivity up to 2.5 S/cm after annealing and glycerol addition. The bulk adhesion test (lap shear strength tests) showed 1.62 MPa which is much higher than various other commercial adhesives such as epoxy, glass bonder, and ethylene vinyl acetate-based hot melt. The new electrically conductive adhesives demonstrates an example of practical applications in cold soldering: electrical connection on a circuit board and on a PET film. The new electornically conducting adhesives is a new class of materials, a fully-organic conducting polymer adhesive, which will become essential for fast growing applications including conducting ink, bioelectronics, batteries, photovoltaics, display, and ultrathin micro-size electronic devices.<br/>
