Biological machines (chaperones, molecular motors, and polymerases) undergo large conformational changes in response to ligand binding (substrate proteins or ATP). I will describe the dynamics of allosteric transitions in key steps of the reaction cycle using molecular motors as illustrations. It is hope that a unified theme for these complex transitions will emerge.
