In this research,nontraditional hypercrosslinked polymeric resins were prepared by continuing Friedel-Crafts alkylation polymerization of dichloromethyl aryl monomer (CMB, XDC). Adsorption experiments of benzene from aqueous and air systems by these materials were carried out. CMB-CMB-XDC resin has the highest adsorptive capacity of benzene in the water than the other resins for its high surface area (1780m2/g). Adsorption of benzene vapor on the resin was performed,  and high adsorption capacity (3291.9 mg/g) was obtained, which is much higher than the theoretic adsorption capacity (1841.5mg�g-1).An accident leakage of benzene floated on the water was simulated, the adsorptive capacity of CMB-CMB-XDC resin was up to 4360.6 mg/g, while H103 resin was only 2606.2 mg/g. The novel adsorptive resins have high adsorption capacity,rapid adsorption rate and fine recycle operation property, having potential application in benzene adsorption in or on water, especially in the emergence polltion.
