Selenium is an essential element but is toxic when consumed in large amounts. Our research involves the synthesis of titanium (IV) oxide nanoparticles using titanium (IV) n-butoxide in 10% ethanol-water by ultrasound methods �ultrasonic probe and ultrasound bath. Anatase and rutile structures of titanium dioxide were synthesized by varying sonication time. Raman spectroscopy was used to identify the phases of the synthesized particles. A 100 % conversion of anatase to rutile was achieved by calcination at 900 oC for eight hours. The sorption chemistry of aqueous selenite and selenate oxoanions to anatase and rutile structures of synthesized titanium dioxide nanoparticles is evaluated.
