This presentation will cover the recent academic and technological developments of silicones and silicone-modified materials.  The applications of silicones and silicone-based materials range from sealing tropical fish tanks to personal care products to aerospace applications to protecting mankind from chemical and biological threats.  The commercial products in this area range from those entirely composed of silicone to ones where the silicone is a low level but key component.
