This presentation will discuss about the relationship of microstructure to photocatalytic activity of titania films fabricated by a new surfactant self-assembling sol gel method. By adjusting pH and the amount of water in this sol-gel system, a remarkable change on the microstructure and photocatalytic activity of titania films can be observed. Detailed information on the fundamental understanding on the formation of pore, decreased particle size and enhanced photocatalytic activity of titania films will be presented.
