The biomedical field is one of the most demanding fields, in which materials need to have specific and well-defined properties. Here we present the use of macromolecular architecture in designing polymers with tuned electrical conductivity within the biomedical field. Linear and hyperbranched, degradable and electrically conductive polymers were synthesized by �A2 + Bn (n=2, 3, 4)� approach using linear and star-shaped poly (e-caprolactone)s (PCL) and carboxyl-capped aniline pentamer (CCAP). An increase in electrical conductivity could be seen when the molecular architecture was changed from linear to hyperbranched copolymers. In addition the hydrophobicity of the material was decreased by incorporation of emeraldine state aniline pentamer. The incorporation of aniline pentamer also decreased the crystallinity of the copolymers of PCL and aniline pentamer compared to the precursors, which might lead to faster degradation of the copolymers. These copolymers have great potential for application in the biomedical field.
