We report novel solid-solution PdRu alloy nanoparticles showing an incredible carbon monoxide oxidation activity. Although Pd and Ru are immiscible in bulk system even at high temperatures, PdRu solid-solution alloy was successfully synthesized by means of chemical reduction method. We observed an extreme enhancement of CO oxidizing ability for PdRu compared to those of Ru, Rh and Pd monometallic nanoparticles.
