The reaction of one equivalent PbCl2 with [(Cy3P)2Pt] (1  ) yielded the dinuclear �metal-only Lewis-pair� [(Cy3P)2Pt?PbCl2] (2  ).[1,2] Stirring 2  with another equivalent of platinum(0) complex, resulted in the formation of an unsupported trinuclear adduct [{(Cy3P)2Pt}2(�-PbCl2)] (3  ) with a bridging PbCl2 moiety. Complete spectroscopic characterization as well as DFT calculations of the synthesized materials were carried out.[3]In these complexes, the Pt?Pb bonding compromises synergic s-donation both to and from the Pb atom in a somewhat twisted orientation.(1) Braunschweig, H.; Gruss, K.; Radacki, K.
