Two independently tunable VUV radiation sources are combined with a time-sliced velocity-map ion imaging detection system to study product branching ratio and beta parameters as a function of the ro-vibronic level of N2 and CO. The products are selectively probed with one VUV laser via resonance enhanced unfocused 1+1' MPI scheme. In the energy region 13.4-14.3 eV two dissociation channels of N2 are observed namely, N(4S) + N(2D) and N(4S) + N(2P). In the same energy region, the branching ratio between the spin-allowed C(3PJ) + O(3PJ) and the spin-forbidden C(1D) + O(3PJ) and C(3PJ) + O(1D) channels are measured. In both CO and N2 the channels that are formed are determined by the specific ro-vibronic state of carbon monoxide and nitrogen that are excited.Acknowledgements: NSF grant CHE-0957872 supports Y.
