Recent debate seems to have concluded that there is 'enough' lithium, but for the purposes of a transition, time matters. The rate of flow from various resources may prove to be a more relevant constraint for some electric vehicle adoption scenarios and heavily concentrated supply chains have been disrupted in the past.  Critical assumptions such as the presence of recycling face special challenges and may require dedicated policy support. These aspects of lithium resource flows and their implication for visions of mobility in the future and policy needs are taken up in a long term perspective.
