Resonance Raman Spectroscopy is a powerful tool to learn about the crystallinity of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) systems and help quantify the relative amount of aggregated and unaggregated P3HT chains. The resolved Raman overtones of the dominant P3HT C=C symmetric stretching mode make the calculations of vibrational mode-specific displacements possible by time dependent theory. Self-assembled P3HT nanofibers (NFs) show smaller C=C displacements than P3HT bulk films, which reflects larger conjugation lengths and order in P3HT NFs. Excited state vibrational dynamics  were also determined from Raman intensities for aggregated and unaggregated P3HT chains. The former showed larger resonance Raman cross sections and longer coherence time due to its higher order and conjugation length.
