Acyl radical intermediates are useful and well established in ketone formation. Oxidative transformations, described here, are, however, generally less exploited. We report our use of a diaminal-stabilized radical as a donor in addition reactions to various Michael acceptors. The heteroatom stabilized radical used here is formed in a photocatalytic cycle using Ru(bpy)3Cl2 .We compare the efficiency of this approach using both batch and flow reactor systems.
