Through funding from an NSF S-STEM grant (Scholarships in STEM), the Department of Chemistry at UNC Asheville instituted the Chemistry Scholars Program in 2011, which provides scholarships for some chemistry majors with academic talent and financial need and provides educational support services for all chemistry majors.  The educational support services are set up in three transitional stages of a student.  The first focuses on transitioning students from a high-school to collegiate environment, the second focuses on transitioning students from 'students in courses' to identifying as a chemistry major, and the third focuses on transitioning students beyond the undergraduate experience into the chemical workforce.  This presentation will describe the features of the three-step Chemistry Scholars Program and its impact in growing the number of majors from ~10 graduates per year to nearly 30 and transforming the culture of the Chemistry Department.
