In this study, an organic-inorganic hybrid was prepared to enhance the capability of the imprinted polymer for adsorption and recognition of bisphenol A. While the inorganic cavities are created to exhibit a high imprinting level, organic cross-linkers promote diffusivity of target compounds in the polymeric matrix. The maximum binding capacity, which is calculated from the Langmuir model, was 65.8 mg/g. This value is close to the imprinted amount (71.3mg/g), indicating that 92 % of the imprinted cavities are available for rebinding. Imprinting factor of the hybrid was 2.5 in aqueous system. Moreover, high selectivity factors of 11.5 and 2.3 were obtained with respect to the adsorption capacities for two structural analogues, bis(2-Hydroxyphenyl)Methane (2HDPM) and 4-tert-butylphenol (4TBP), respectively. These features reveal that this imprinted hybrid is promising as the adsorption and recognition elements for various analytical and environmental applications.
