The development of high throughput research (HTR) infrastructure and experimentation has been a major focus for The Dow Chemical Company.  This R&D effort was built on the vision that HTR experimentation could impact the effectiveness of all of our businesses.  Over the past fourteen years this vision has resulted in the development of a strong HTR infrastructure across a wide diversity of technologies, such as liquid formulations, coating and adhesives, thermoplastics and thermosets, organic synthesis, and both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.  The homogeneous catalysis research within Dow has greatly benefited from HTR experimentation where these tools and approaches have been successfully used for a variety of research problems.  These broad areas of research include the discovery of new materials and new mechanistic pathways to generate these materials, as well as the discovery and optimization of new catalyst families.  Examples from these categories will be presented which highlight the productivity enhancement achievable through HTR research.
