Due to its amphiphilic property, water-dispersed graphene oxide (GO) achieves a variety of nanostructures by a self-concentrating process at interfaces[1], which indicates a facile but well-controlled approach for carbon-based functional devices especially those for high performance energy storage. Flexible membrane is normally obtained at 2D interface while hydrogel is formed at 3D interface by such self-assembly processes. Our group reports self-assembly processes both at liquid-air [2] and liquid-solid interfaces [3]. The freestanding membranes formed at liquid-air interface can bedeveloped into flexible paper-like lithium-ion battery [4], supercapacitor and lithium-sulfur battery [5,6]. The hydrogel formed at liquid-solid interface can be transformed into low density and hierarchical porous macroform-like structure [7] or high density but porous structure subject to different water-removing processes [8].
