In recent years there is a steadily increasing interest in Flavones and Chromones especially because of their beneficial effects against atherosclerosis, osteoporosis, diabetes, asthma and stress to mention just a few. We have therefore developed a new and general way for making Fluoroflavones and Fluorochromones by using F2. Thus, a protocol was developed for clean addition of Fluorine across the double bond of these compounds, followed by dehydrofluorination performed by several methods. A different subject which will be discussed is the novel preparation of R(Ar)SCF3 and R(Ar)SeCF3derivatives using fluoroform. It is an easy reaction, does not require any special instrumentation and generally proceeds in good yields  .
