Fluorinated compounds provide an area of great interest with respect to drug development in the pharmaceutical industry. 10 out of 30 best-selling pharmaceuticals compounds have at least one fluorine atom in its structure. Our project consists in the development of an organocatalytic procedure for the synthesis of fluoro compounds via Csp3-H activation utilizing the �green chemistry� approach. This objective is based on the organocatalytic process in which Csp3-H photocatalytic activation and organocatalytic addition of nucleophilic fluorocarbons occurs in a synergistic way. Therefore, organic dyes are employed to activate the tertiary amines by forming the highly active iminium followed by the attack of a suitable nucleophilic fluorocarbon to give the enantioenriched fluoro derivative.
