As a need for clean energy usage has increased in the world, integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) with pre-combustion CO2 capture and storage has been developed as a means for maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing climate change. In this study, a 2l/min water gas shift with planar membrane for pre-combustion CO2 capture has been used. The simulated syngas(H2: 25-35, CO: 60-65, CO2: 5-15 vol%) with 20ppm H2S was used to determine the effect of H2S on hydrogen flux in the membrane reactor. At the membrane experiments, CO2 concentration reached over 90% and hydrogen flux was over 20ml/min/cm2. However H2S prevented hydrogen permeation and CO2 concentration went down to under 60%.
