Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is the latest chemical pollutant and has been considered as the persistent organic pollutant due to their long range transport ability, environmental persistence and bio-concentration. Therefore, this study was to set up a green procedure by using charge adsorption with hydrophilic PVDF membranes to eliminate PFOS in water and regenerated the used PVDF menbranes by microwave extraction. The process of adsorption has been identified as an effective technique to eliminate PFOS in water. The sorption kinetics and sorption isotherms of  PFOS  onto PVDF membranes also be investigated. The adsorptive capacities of PFOS, PFHxS, PFBS onto PVDF membranes can be nicely fitted the Freundlich equation (R2 = 0.991�0.997). Among the adsorption capacity (Qc) of three PFCs onto PVDF membranes at equilibrium concentration of 100 mg/L, PFOS showed the best adsorption capacity followed by PFHxs and PFBS. The adsorption capacity of PFOS, PFHxS and PFBS were respectively 0.88, 0.31 and 0.14 �g/g. The highest value of PFOS absorbed on PVDF membranes showed the effect of hydrophobic alkylgroup chain lengths. The adsorption of PFCs increased with increasing alkylgroup chain lengths, ionic strength, and,decreasing pH . In addition, Adsorption of PFOS followed a first-order reversible reaction model approaching equilibrium, increasing exponentially in the early stages of exposure and then becoming constant beyond 240 mins. The results of PFOS recovery experiment suggested that PVDF membranes can be regenerated by microwave extraction.
