A new family of enantioselective zinc catalysts was synthesized for the copolymerization of CO2 and cycloaliphatic meso epoxides. The catalysts were optimized for the formation of highly isotactic polycarbonate under mild conditions. Solid-state structures and solution-state dynamics of the catalysts were analyzed to explain trends in copolymerization activity. The synthesis of the catalysts, polymerization activity, and mechanism will be discussed in detail.
