Herein, this study show two cases of self-supported electrodes free of any substrates, which offers new platform to minimize gas bubble problems, leading to high activity, favorable kinetics and strong durability in water splitting. The as-prepared graphene-carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and MoS2 hybrid hydrogel films have exhibited excellent OER and HER catalytic activity during water splitting.
