Superoxide is implicated as a newly recognized biological signaling molecule in diverse cellular processes spanning mitogenic growth, apoptosis, and cardiovascular homeostasis. Motivated to study its functions in living cells and more complex models, we have developed efficient synthetic routes to access a palette of new fluorescent superoxide probes. This talk will present our latest results in developing indicators with altered fluorescence properties, cell localization, and cell trappability.
