The basalt chopped fiber reinforced epoxy compositesusing different silane coupling agents and curing systems were prepared inorder to investigate the thermal characteristics of the composites. Through theevaluation of Tg and thermal degradation behavior of both systems, it wasdeduced that the interfacial property of the composites was greatly influencedby the combination of the curing system and silane coupling agents. Also, the tensileand flexural properties of the composites were systematically evaluated inorder to further understand the effect of silane coupling agents on theinteraction with basalt fiber.
