The ability to add two different molecules across an alkene is a powerful transformation that can take relatively simple substrates and rapidly increases molecular complexity. Our group has recenty developed Pd-catalyzed reactions that regioselectively control the nature of nucleopalladation and reductive elemination of a second functional group. The development, scope and potential for this transformation will be presented.
