The first part of this presentation will focus on the discovery, development and impact of two breakthrough antiviral agents, 3TC and FTC.  These compounds are components of ten FDA-approved therapies for treating HIV and HBV (Epivir, Combivir, Trizivir, Epzicom, Epivir-HBV, Emtriva, Truvada, Atripla, Complera and Stribid).  The second part of the presentation will describe our work on CXCR4 modulators for controlling a variety of cancers, virals diseases and inflammatory conditions.
