In recent years, porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted great attention due to their diverse structures, interesting properties and potential applications in storage, adsorption and separation, ion and molecular recognition, ion-exchange, catalysis etc. We focus our attention on preparation, structure and property of MOFs with pre-designed organic ligands, for example 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene (tib), 1,3,5-tris(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (timb), 1,4-di(1H-imidazol-4-yl)benzene (H2L1), 1,3,5-tri(1H-imidazol-4-yl)benzene (H3L2), [1,1':3',1''-terphenyl]-4,4'',5'-tricarboxylic acid (H3TPTC), 3,5-di(pyridine-4-yl)benzoic acid (HDPB). Reactions of these ligands with metal salts were investigated, and porous MOFs with different structures were achieved, their structures, stability and sorption properties were studied. In the presentation, we will report a three-dimensional (3D) framework [Cu3(TPTC)2(DABCO)(H2O)]·15H2O·9DMF (1) obtained by reaction of H3TPTC and DABCO (1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) with copper salt and Co(II) and Zn(II) microporous frameworks [Co(HL2)]•DMF•H2O (2) and [Zn(HL2)]•2H2O (3) prepared by reactions of corresponding metal salt with H3L2 in aqueous DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide) and aqueous NH3 solution, respectively.
