We demonstrated a new way to synthesize the stable visible light photocatalyst Ag2O nano-particles (NP) without adding any surfactant with the help of ideal nano-reactor spherical polyelectrolyte brushes (SPB). The morphology of metal oxide NPs were observed by TEM. The FTIR spectra of pure SPB and Ag2O NPs immobilized SPB showed that after loading of Ag2O NP on SPB, absorption of C = O stretch at 1710 cm-1 decreased. UV DRS was used to measure the optical property of Ag2O and SPB composite. After synthesis of Ag2O on SPB, its absorption range increased which is due to Ag2O. Hence this stable dispersion of Ag2O-SPB composite is envisioned to use in the applications of anti-microbial activity and photo-catalysis of wastewater.
