The use of the "genomic" paradigm for materials science has helped remind materials scientists of the importance of data. However, the challenge in discovering the material equivalent of a “gene” and decoding that information requires that we do more than just collect and archive data faster. This presentation focusses on the next grand challenge of how discover new relationships between complex and high dimensional data. It is shown that one can map high dimensional information not only to uncover new structure-chemistry-property relationships but also to discover pathways that serves a map for future discoveries.
