A catalyst controlled asymmetric aziridination will be reported based on the previously developed method on the multi-component <i>cis</i>-aziridination. The stereochemistry of the newly formed aziridines is the function of chiral boroxinate catalyst which is independent from the chiral centers already present in the aldehyde substrates. A series of aldehydes with the chiral centers presented at either α- or β-positions are investigated to find out the diatereoselectivity of the corresponding aziridines from both enantiomers of the BOROX catalyst, as the evaluation of ligand control over the diatereoselectivity from the matched and miss-matched pairs. The synthesis of stereoisomers of isoleucine and polyoxamic acid will be discussed as the application of this method.
