&lt;div&gt;A simple mass balance box model was used to estimate the rate constants of photochemical generated dissolved gaseous mercury (DGM) in a souther reservoir lake (Cane Creek Lake, Cookeville, TN) using DGM and emission flux data collected from the lake. Daily variations of the rate constants were found with highest values generally around midday. Seasonal variations were also found as the model calculations yielded significantly higher values for the summer season (June - August) than for the winter season (December - February). The calculated rate constants were found highest in July for the summer season. This study suggests that the model calculation may serve as a useful tool in investigating the rate constants of photochemical generated DGM in a freshwater system.&lt;/div&gt;
