<i>The reactions of electron-deficient alkene with activated and unactivated alkynes have been investigated. Both moderately electron-rich and unactivated alkynes efficiently undergo a [3+2] cycloaddition/rearrangement cascade to provide corresponding </i>dienones<i> adducts in yields up to 84% without any catalyst. This transformation proceeds with excellent regioselectivity and with a wide range of alkynes.</i>
