Pyridylphosphine ligands have attracted attention over the past several years given their coordination behavior and potential use in multisite metal catalysts as they have the ability to coordinate early and late transition metals through multiple donors (<b>P</b> or <b>N</b> basic sites). Functionalized pyridylphosphine, however, have received limited attention. Here we present the synthesis functionalized 6-pyridylphosphines and their coordination behavior with late transition metals with a focus on metal-ligand coordination modes and the potential for multimetallic complexes.
