The effects of paramagnetism on the characteristics of nuclear resonances have been recognized and utilized since the discover of nuclear magnetic resonance phenomenon in 1948.  High-spin-low-spin equilibrium have been shown to be prevalent in various transition-element complexes.  This poster will show the synthesis and characterization of various tungsten-aryloxide-halide-pyridine complexes that have exhibited contact shifted paramagnetic NMRs as well as some diamagnetic variations.  W(OAr-2,6-diphenyl)Cl2py2, W(Oar-2,6-diphenyl)Cl3py and W(OAr-2,3,5,6-tetraphenyl)Cl2py2 have been isolated and characterized.
