Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are generally constructed through a dynamic nucleation-elongation process to form highly ordered polymeric materials with low densities, high porosity, and excellent thermal stabilities. However, the construction of highly ordered polymeric materials containing excellent chemical stability and high carbon dioxide adsorption remains a challenging process This presentation will cover our approach to creating ordered benzobisoxazole (BBO) linked COFs that exhibit high surface areas, excellent thermal and water stabilities, and great adsorption of carbon dioxide. An emphasis will be placed on utilizing these materials for carbon capture and separation.
