This presentation will focus on the portrayal and accuracy of the science in selected environmental films. One of the most important and prominent forces influencing public opinion on the natural environment and pollution is film media that starts in childhood and continues throughout adulthood. Selected films were divided into four categories (1) children’s movies, (2) popular cultural films, (3) personal, first-person international documentaries, and (4) U.S. documentaries, in order to show how environmental education starts at childhood and continues throughout our lives. The course was based on a one-hour weekly lecture to discuss the public’s and scientists’ view of each selected work and one film viewing per week.
