Bacteriochlorin-based glycoconjugates are potential photosensitizers for use in photodynamic therapy for treatment of various conditions, such as cancer.  Development of synthetic methods to easily access these gylcoconjugates is highly desirable to investigate possible applications.  Brominated bacteriochlorin scaffolds were synthesized using known literature procedures. The brominated species was then subjected to Sonogashira coupling to create an alkynylated substrate, which was then conjugated with various azido-sugars through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions to create the desired glycoconjugates. The preliminary results of the synthesis and characterization of the bacteriochlorin glycoconjugates will be discussed.<br/>
