Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as an exciting class of porous materials, which can be structurally tuned by choosing organic-inorganic components based on the desirable application. By careful selection of organic-inorganic components, MOFs can exhibit high surface area, and porosity with diversified morphology. Here we report, a new series of MOFs, synthesized using 2,4 Naphthalene dicarboxylic acid as organic linker with metals (M=Zn, Cu, Mn) via thermal annealing-based technique. Unlike conventional methods, which take about 72 hours, this technique can produce MOFs in 7 minutes at 250 C in organic solvents, exhibiting best performance characteristics. The synthesized naphthalene-based MOFs were confirmed by various characterizations techniques such as X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, UV-Visible spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The FT-IR spectra of these MOFs showed a wide and broad stretching frequency from 3,000 to 3,500 cm<sup>-1 </sup>due to presence of -COOH groups confirming the presence of 2,4-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid in the structure. The crystalline properties of these MOFs were analyzed and confirmed by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. The chemical compositions of these MOFs were analyzed by energy dispersive spectroscopy that confirmed the presence of carbon, oxygen, and respective metals (M=Zn, Cu, Mn). Thermal stability was analyzed by thermogravimetric that showed the decomposition of host framework at the temperature of 400 C-500 C. Scanning electron microscopy images of these MOFs showed diversified morphologies for different metals (Zn, Cu, Mn) with the size ranging from 100 - 300 nm. The yield of the MOFs synthesized via thermal annealing-based technique resulted about 80% that is twice of the conventional techniques. Perhaps, for bulk production of the MOFs, the proposed thermal annealing-based technique is efficient, simple, and less time consuming compared to conventional synthesis method.
