The Berry College division of American Chemical Society works to get club members, students and faculty, and the local community excited about science, specifically chemistry. Through exposure to different fields of chemistry, club members see opportunities outside of the classroom of what chemistry can mean for them. This occurs through hot topics in chemistry nights where club executives facilitate interactive discussions on a wide range of topics. This learning is translated into science social nights, which are available to the entire student body. There is special emphasis on the fact that a person does not need a background in chemistry to find it fun and exciting. In the community, children who typically do not have access to science education are exposed through interactive chemistry demonstrations and are educated about opportunities within science. Chemistry is traditionally viewed as a daunting subject for the classroom, however, the Berry division of ACS has taken steps to change these perceptions. Science is more than what happens in the classroom.<br/>
